Jesus and Me (JAM)

JAM is Atascocita Lutheran Church’s elementary age youth group that exists to nurture friendships between the school age children of the church, provide a strong foundation for discipleship training and spiritual formation, and to stress service ministry.

JAM is dependent on parental involvement to be a successful group. Parents are asked to participate in all aspects of the monthly meetings by providing lunch and helping in the bible study, crafts and game activities.

JAM is scheduled for the fourth Sunday of each month. It begins at noon and ends at 1:30.

Vacation Bible School

Are you ready for the voyage of a lifetime?

At High Seas Expedition, kids explore the mighty love of God on a journey that will change them forever! High Seas Expedition is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, touch and even taste! Bible point crafts, team building games, and cool Bible songs are just a few of the High Seas Expedition activities that help faith flow into real life. Plus, we’ll help kids discover how to see evidence of God in everyday life-something we call God Sightings. Get ready to hear that phrase a lot!

Your kids will also participate in a hands-on mission project called Operation Kid-to-Kid that will let the kids in our community blanket the world with God’s love!

So mark these dates on your calendar: July 12-16, 2010. The fun starts at 5:45pm and will end at 8:30pm. All children between the ages of 3 years (potty trained) through 5th grade are welcome! Click on the link here to register your children for this life-changing adventure! Please forward this on to your friends too! Musical Opportunities for Children

Children who attend Sunday School have music every week. They learn music that supports the Sunday School lessons and prepare music to be sung and/or played on instruments on occasion during worship.

Every year, children in Kindergarten through Middle School are invited to participate in the Christmas Musical. We rehearse for six weeks before Christmas and perform the musical at the first service on Christmas Eve. Announcements appear far in advance in both the church newsletter and the weekly bulletin announcements. For information about children’s musical opportunities, contact Zane Barra at 281-935-0131 or zbarra1@gmail.com

Camps & Retreats

Elementary ages children have several opportunities to experience camp. ALC attends LutherHill, our ELCA camp, several times a year including a spring retreat and summer camp. Camp scholarships are available to those in need of financial assistance.
