music

ALC’s Music Ministry has opportunities for children and adults, offering great ways to connect to the church community!

Vocal and handbell choirs, and various soloists and instrumental ensembles prepare music and help lead Sunday worship at 8:00 and 10:30 am, well as other special services throughout the year.

How To Get Involved

Please see the information below for details and contact people for each of these areas of music ministry. Please consider being part of the music ministry at ALC!

Adult Sanctuary Choir

The ALC Sanctuary Choir prepares special music and leads congregational singing at one service every Sunday. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7 – 8 p.m. If you enjoy singing, please come and join the choir! The commitment is small, but the rewards are HUGE!! For more information, Contact Christopher Lund at 281-852-7333, or christopher.lund@mac.com

Voices in Bronze

voices in bronze

“Voices in Bronze” is a handbell ensemble that meets on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. This ensemble rings monthly for worship, as well as for special services throughout the year. Ringing bells is challenging, yet fun! This group is mostly adults, yet middle school and high school students are also welcome. If you are interested in joining “Voices in Bronze” please contact Zane Barra at 281-935-0131, or zbarra1@gmail.com

Musical Opportunities for Children

Children who attend Sunday School have music every week. They learn music that supports the Sunday School lessons and prepare music to be sung and/or played on instruments on occasion during worship.

Every year, children in Kindergarten through Middle School are invited to participate in the Christmas Musical. We rehearse for six weeks before Christmas and perform the musical at the first service on Christmas Eve. Announcements appear far in advance in both the church newsletter and the weekly bulletin announcements. For information about children’s musical opportunities, contact Zane Barra at 281-935-0131 or zbarra1@gmail.com

Opportunities for Solos and Ensemble

There are opportunities for both vocalists and instrumentalists to participate as soloists or in ensembles throughout the year.

If you play an instrument, and are interested in sharing your talents with the church, contact Zane.

Vocal ensembles are made up of choir members, at the discretion of the choir director.

Summer is a great time for solos, duets, etc. If you are interested in providing special music during June, July or August, contact Zane to schedule a Sunday.
