ALC Book Club

The Book Club meets at ALC at 7 p.m. on the second Monday of every month and is open to all ALC members, friends and family. We kick-off each meeting with a delicious snack provided by the evening’s host, then move into a  lively discussion of the current month’s book selection. We read a wide variety of titles – fiction and non-fiction – that are suggested and voted on by Book Club participants. We read 11 books each year, then come together for a movie night for our meeting time in December. The two remaining books for this year are: “If You Tell” by Gregg Olsen (October 12); and “The Nightingale” by Kristin Hannah (November 9). We hope you will join us for food, fellowship, laughter and scintillating conversation!

 

Bunco

ALC has two Bunco groups that meet the second and third Saturdays of each month. There are 12 ladies in each group, who each host Bunco in their home once a year. The host provides a meal, some snacks and prizes for the winners in several categories. Participants contribute $5.00 each month to pay for the prizes. Bunco provides a great opportunity to meet with friends, enjoy a scrumptious meal together, vie for beautiful prizes and laugh, laugh, laugh!

 

Diner's Group

Do you enjoy eating out, but not alone? Then the ALC Diner's group is for you!!
We meet at a different area restaurant at 6:00PM the third Thursday of each month (except December) to enjoy good food and great conversation. The restaurants for the year are chosen by the group.
Whether you're married or single, young or older you are invited.  Hope to see you there!
LWR Quilt guild
We are a group of women who like to sew. We meet the third Saturday of every month at 9:45 am – 12:00 at ALC. We began meeting this past June. So far, we have 5 women. There is room for many more. Our mission is to put together quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Lutheran World Relief is an organization that works with third world countries and areas where disasters have hit. They bring the quilts and pass them out as needed. Our job is to create quilt tops and put them together using the knotting method of quilting. You do not need to know how to quilt. We need people who can sew but also people who can cut fabric, sort fabric and iron, just to name a few jobs. We will also teach you what ever you want to learn when it comes to putting these quilts together. To join, please contact Cathy DeWoody at dew8314@hotmail.com
