WELCOME, CHRIS! Christopher Lund has recently been hired as the Director of Vocal Choirs at Atascocita Lutheran Church (ALC). The son of two ELCA ministers, Chris was born in Minnesota and grew up in numerous locales around the world, due to his father’s calling as a Chaplain in the U.S. Army. Chris returned from overseas in 2002 to study choral music and composition at Texas Tech University (Lubbock, TX), where he met his wife Vicki. Last fall, Chris and Vicki moved to the Atascocita area and joined ALC, where they have been very active in the congregation’s music ministry. Chris works as a teacher, giving private voice lessons and tutoring children who struggle with math.

Coming This Fall!! Living the Questions 2.0 People know that at its core, Christianity has something good to offer humanity. At the same time, many have a sense that they are alone in being a "thinking" Chris-tian and that "salvaging" Christianity is a hopeless task. What is needed is a safe environment where people have permission to ask the questions they've always wanted to ask but have been afraid to voice for fear of being thought a heretic. Living the Questions (LtQ2) is a source of curriculum and media for both seekers and "church alumni/ae" convinced that Christianity still has relevance in the 21stCentury. Providing a variety of flexible resources, Living the Questions can help people explore the future of Christianity and what a meaningful faith can look like in today's world. Watch for more information about this exciting opportunity, coming soon!

It takes a tremendous amount of planning and preparation on my part and on the part of numerous dedicated volunteers. I must admit though that sometimes I lose sight of the big picture.[read full article]
